ABOUT A WEEKEND OF PRAYER
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The National Weekend of Prayer is a Coalition of abolitionists and prayer leaders. The mission of the Weekend of Prayer is to mobilize prayer in America and to encourage awareness of the issue of human trafficking which is correctly called modern day slavery.
Theme: Anointed to Proclaim Freedom for the Captives.
Scripture: Isaiah 61:1:
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners” (NIV)
The Weekend of Prayer will be January 11-13, 2013. On January 11th there will be praying meetings facilitated throughout the nation and people will be encouraged to pray in their homes or work.
In the evening of the 11th there will be several webcasts of prayer gatherings in several major cities.
On Saturday, January 12th we are partnering with the "Prayer Surge NOW" on a nationwide morning Conference Call.
Then on Sunday, January 13th we are encouraging congregations to say a prayer for the ending of modern day slavery in their community.
We are prayerfully asking your organization to endorse and join us on this day.

Human trafficking is the third largest crime in the world and one of the fastest growing. It consists of primarily labor trafficking and sex trafficking and it is a problem right here in America. Child sex trafficking is a terrible type of child abuse, The average age at which a girl enters prostitution in this country is fourteen and in some states it is as low as twelve. The stories of the survivors are horrific.
In our opinion, God calls his people to lead efforts to eradicate this modern day slavery just as religious leaders in the nineteenth century led the fight to end slavery in their age.
HISTORY: January 11th is Human Trafficking Awareness Day in the U.S.as a result of a 2007 resolution by the Senate making January 11th a day of awareness and vigilance for the countless victims of Human Trafficking around the world. President Obama has also proclaimed January National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month.
We are inviting you to participate in the 2nd Annual National Prayer initiative for the victims, survivors of human trafficking, the customers, "Johns", who are creating the demand and for the traffickers/pimps.

El Fin de Semana de Oración Nacional es la Coalición de abolicionistas y líderes de oración. La misión del Fin de Semana de Oración es movilizar oración en América y para motivar concientización en el asunto de la trata de humanos la cual, propiamente se puede llamar, la esclavitud de hoy en día.
Tema: Ungido para Proclamar Libertad a los Cautivos

por cuanto me ha ungido para anunciar buenas
nuevas a los pobres. Me ha enviado a sanar los
corazones heridos, a proclamar liberación a los
cautivos y libertad a los prisioneros” (NVI)
La Trata de Humanos es el tercer crimen más grande en el mundo y uno de crecimiento más avanzado. Consiste primordialmente de trata para trabajo y trata para sexo y es un problema que tenemos aquí en América. La trata de niños para sexo es un terrible tipo de abuso de menores. La edad promedio que la niña entra en prostitución en este país es catorce años y en algunos estados es tan bajo como doce años. Las historias de los sobrevivientes son horribles.
En nuestra opinión, Dios llama a su pueblo a dirigir esfuerzos para erradicar esta esclavitud de hoy en día así como líderes religiosos en el siglo diecinueve dirigieron la lucha para terminar con la esclavitud de su tiempo.
HISTORIA: Enero 11 es el Día de Conciencia de Trata de Humanos en los EEUU como resultado de una resolución en 2007 por el Senado haciendo a enero 11 un día de conciencia y vigilancia por el sin número de víctimas de la Trata de Humanos alrededor del mundo. El Presidente Obama también proclamó el mes de enero como El Mes de Prevención Nacional de la Esclavitud y Trata de Humanos.

Le invitamos a participar en la 2da Iniciativa Anual Nacional de Oración por las víctimas, sobrevivientes de trata de humanos, los clientes, “Johns”, quienes están creando la demanda y por los tratantes/ proxenetas.
El Fin de Semana de Oración será en enero 11 – 13, 2013. En enero 11 se llevarán a cabo reuniones de oración a través de la nación y personas serán motivadas a orar en sus hogares o trabajos.
En la tarde del 11 habrá algunas transmisiones de reuniones de oración en algunas ciudades principales.
El sábado, 12 de enero, estamos asociados con “Prayer Surge NOW” en una Conferencia Telefónica nacional durante la mañana.
Para finalizar, el domingo, enero 13, estamos motivando a las congregaciones a levantar una oración para que se termine la esclavitud de hoy en día en sus comunidades.
